So? How was your summer?

Mine wasn’t as productive as I wanted. I spent too much time working the main job, and I pulled quite a few five-night and six-night work weeks (12-hour shifts apiece, in case you were interested). I had neither the mental capacity nor the physical energy to write, not the way I would have wanted. I made some progress though, and what happened was quite exciting.

  • Daddy’s Little Girl has evolved from a short story to a novella, and I have a rough cut of chapter one complete. My current outline is for seven chapters to tell this story, and once the edits are finished, I’ll put it up on the site. I’m gunning to have this first draft done by Thanksgiving if all goes well. Fingers crossed on that one.

  • Edits on 4play are slow but steady. The timeline is pushed back somewhat thanks to a heavy workload and the crippling insecurity of working through an imperfect draft. I’m shooting to have that ready for Spring of 2019.

  • The Yankees are in 2nd Place in the AL East, 11 games out of the top spot. They’re fighting for the Wild Card now, and it currently looks like they’ll play the A’s in a one-game playoff. Doesn’t have anything to do with writing, but hey, life happens between the lines.

Fall is finally upon us, and the chilly weather and pumpkin spice everything is hard evidence of that. Usually, my writing grind comes back after a long summer hiatus as well. Stay warm, stay safe, and I’ll see you next month.
