Hey everyone!

I spent November in a self-imposed writing exile. Has anything new happened for you guys? Please share in the comments below!

Credit to Now This...

As for me, I added 10,000 words to a work-in-progress and brought the total to almost 30,000 words. That represents the single most substantial output of any month this year! With that in mind, here’s an update as to what’s going on in this small corner of the world!

  • Editing work resumes on 4play, and I want to see if I can construct a back-cover blurb for this month. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Here’s what I got so far: Alex and Sabrina have hit a breaking point. After a tragedy put a silent and growing rift in their marriage, the two are barely on speaking terms and find outlets for their frustration in Lucy, a waitress from Alex’s favorite diner, and Max, a client at Sabrina’s dance class. But after their dalliances seem to renew the spark in their marriage, Alex and Sabrina are faced with the question of how sustainable this is. It’s a little rough…

  • I’ve got a couple of book reviews ready to roll, and I’ll start sharing them this week.

  • I’m back to work on a couple of short pieces, and we’ll see if I can have them ready by the end of the year. Fingers crossed on that one.

  • And we have a tree up! People who know me well, know that I’m rarely ever at home for the holidays, so I usually don’t bother with putting up a tree. After all, who would enjoy it? This year, Robyn talked me into it and, well, here we are! It’s a little naked right now, but hey, gimme a break! Thanksgiving was just the other day, and I’m new at this! As a matter of fact, feel free to send me pictures of your trees so I can steal some ideas… I mean, gain inspiration!

Charlie Brown would be proud...

Anyway, as we hurtle toward the end of the year, and of the decade, let’s take a moment to appreciate what we have, where we came from, and what we’ve learned along the way. Ten years is a lot of time for growth and change, and we should take some time reflect on our respective journeys. There is no constant in life other than change. And while we think about our paths, we should also take a moment to stop and check out the tracks of our loved ones. Reach out. Check in. You never know what someone’s going through, and you never know how much a spare thought can mean to anyone at any given time.

And with that (because there are too many this time of year to list), I will wish you all Happy Holidays!
