Hey everybody!
Welcome back for a new month on the hit show, “Adventures in Quarantine!” As the COVID-19 outbreak rages on for a fifth month, school is right around the corner and parents everywhere are about to wrestle with the difficult decision of whether to send their kids back to school. It’s a decision that makes me glad I don’t have kids, and I can’t imagine what these parents are going through, with various governments telling them it’s okay and empirical data about the outbreak saying different.
Also, sports have resumed. The NBA just resumed its 2019-2020 season (with a remarkable display of solidarity for social justice). The new baseball season is a little

over a week old, and already six teams have multiple players testing positive for the coronavirus. The Miami Marlins alone had 14 players test positive on a 30-man roster. This has sent Major League Baseball into a scramble, and commissioner Rob Manfred has had to postpone series left and right as players break quarantine.
But hey, those are big issues and negative thoughts. Let’s focus on the good stuff going on as the summer winds down.
- I just completed chapter four of a project I started for a novel-writing course. It’s been interesting, learning a different approach to my craft, and I hope that I have a fully realized first draft by the time NaNoWriMo rolls around in November.
- A new short story, Billy, went live a few days ago, so please check it out! I have another new one going live at the end of this month, but in the meantime head to the EXTRAS section and enjoy Billy, For a Good Time, Call, and After Hours… all for free!
- A good buddy of mine, Thom Carnell, is releasing his third short story anthology Tuxedo Junction, in the near future, completing a trilogy of anthologies dedicated to his late mother. Thom’s a terrific writer with a serious horror pedigree, so take a moment and check out his stuff!
- I’m about halfway through revising another project, currently titled 4play. It’s been a long grind, fueled by my distaste for editing, but it’s finally starting to come together, and hopefully I’ll have something ready soon.
And that’s all I got! Let me know what you have going on as we head into summer’s home stretch. And while we’re at it, I just want to remind you to stay safe, look out for each other, and keep screaming about the need to arrest and prosecute Breonna Taylor’s murderers.
Read stuff. One love!
