Hey! How ya doin’? It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
If you’ve been here before, welcome back; if this is your first visit, thanks for coming.
*awkward silence*
So, yeah, Fall is in full swing, and it’s been a long, radio-silent summer. Sorry about that. Between moving, getting married, working frequent and long shifts, heat waves, forest fires and all the other stuff life can throw at you, I was burnt out. I didn’t write much and didn’t blog much, mostly because I didn’t have anything to say. I had nothing new to promote, nothing I wanted to stand on my soapbox and preach on, and no updates on anything coming down the pipeline. And that brings us to this, my first blog post in five whole months.
So, what have I been doing? Working, for starters. After a summer where I was just fried, I went back to working a few extra shifts a week. The extra work time gives me extra writing time at night, so that’s been boosted as well. I’ve also watched the various new entries into the MCU on Disney+, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki. I’ve spent a bunch of time with my wife, recuperating from our mutual burnout. And reading. A lot. Since the middle of July, I’ve averaged one book per week, and I’ve got a bunch of reviews on the way.
I’ve also made some significant progress on a long-simmering project. I’m a little more than halfway finished (>38,000 words as of this writing) with the first draft. While I’m not doing NaNoWriMo this year (more on that later this week), I’m using November to try and push through this project.
I haven’t offered a ton of info considering I’ve been away for five months. But I can promise you that more is coming, so stay tuned and welcome back!
